A Buffalo City politician sentenced to eight years in prison for faking his own death in a multimillion-rand insurance scam has re-emerged on the campaign trail, having never served a single day behind bars. Zolani Xego, formerly of the ANC and now contesting ward 18 for the UDM, insists he is legally eligible to stand despite having exhausted all formal appeals up to the Constitutional Court.
