A service delivery protest by angry residents of Breidbach outside, King William's Town, has brought morning traffic to a standstill between East London and King William's Town.

Eastern Cape provincial transport spokeswoman Khuselwa Rantjie said the service delivery protest was taking place at the Breidbach junction.

"The intersection is completely blocked from both directions."

"Traffic officers are closing off the N2 at Hargreaves Traffic Circle and at Blainey Junction in Berlin."

Rantjie said traffic would be diverted along Ndevana Road towards Zwelitsha through to King Williams Town. "We are not sure at this stage what the issues are from the community."
