World-class R416m cancer unit opened in Mthatha

Cancer patients across the Eastern Cape have received a life-changing boost following the launch of a state-of-the-art R416m oncology unit at the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital in Mthatha. Named after the late community activist Dr Laura Mpahlwa, the facility promises to spare vulnerable patients from undertaking exhausting, expensive journeys to distant cities for vital radiotherapy and specialist care.
